DVD Library Tool has reached its final build and now available from Clever Technologies. You can get a fully licensed version for just $20. Not only does it allow you to automate downloading DVDID information, but it will rip DVDs, upload DVDID info to DVDxml, as well as allow you to manually edit your cached XML files! This is a great utility for Media Center. You can also download the demo to try it before you buy it.

Great Tool! I followed the link from this site over to the "Clever" folks offering the DVD Library Tool. I learned that the combination of DVDXML + DVD Library tool is the most complete solution I could find to transcribe 500+ DVDs into my media center. Many thanks to them both! They have saved me so much time! And, I love the results. (all work is being done on Windows 7 RC) |

Glad to hear you enjoy it! Sounds like you made great use of them both. Imagine having to download XML files for all 500+ DVDs you have. OUCH! |

Just want to update my earlier comment. The support from Paul at Clever Tech has been astounding. He responded to my email and built an updated version of the program to try and resolve my issue. It appears likely that the issue was some characters in one of my XML files causes this error and Paul is finalizing updates to address this in a future version. The tool works on XP MCE05, VMC, and Win7 MC. Can't thank him enough for all his help. |

Note: This issue probably only applies to Win 7 MC with Xbox 360 extenders. I am having issues getting this to work with Win 7 MC with an Xbox 360 extender. The program needs the file VIDEO_TS.IFO to be present to detect and update DVDxml files for .VOB based media (ripped DVDs).. the issue is that Win 7 MC can detect and play .VOB files on the Xbox 360 extender via the 'Movies' menu but ONLY if the VIDEO_TS.IFO file is NOT present.. as this program requires the file to be present it creates a deadlock unless I manually swap the file in and out which is a pain as my collection does not currently include any VIDEO_TS.IFO files I will have to re-rip that file from every DVD I own.. |

Sorry for the "bad english"...What was meant to be said is that the DVDXML id has be created and maintain locally. Follow the link and also use the FAQ for the solution.

In the future, please make your DVD request via the Forum.
For "I Love You, Man" you will need to follow place the DVDXML id locally to your system and modify your id and cover art.
This is due to the information not being available in Microsoft's MCE database NOT DVDXML.com.
See http://www.dvdxml.com/p/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?1725 for the finer details.
