I use XP MCE 2005 with all patches and roll up installed. The registry is also modify to display the gallery type in DvdSettings. I can watch DVD's no problem using the gallery mode. The only thing I am able to do is to put a folder.jpg file and it will show the cover art. When I copy the xml file into the DVD directory, nothing happend. No title, no cover art (except if I have the folder.jpg) and no description. I have a second PC running the same version of XP MCE 2005 and everything works like a charm. I have noticed that in the following path : C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\Application Data\Microsoft\eHome\, I do not have the DvdInfoCache folder. I have copy the DvdInfoCache folder from my other computer and it seems to work where I have duplicate dvd in both machines. Why am I missing the DvdInfoCache folder ? Also, after I created that folder manually, it does not update new xml files that I ad in my dvd list so it seems that MCE is not even looking to that folder location... What did I miss ??? Thanks ! On my first PC am running Vista Home Premium, with and external HD with the DVDs and .XML files on it. They are running fine in WMC under DVD Gallery once I'd turned the file sharing on. On my second PC running Vista Home premium as well, the DVDs play in DVD Gallery but they don't show the cover art? The path is PCNAME/My DVDs/Full Disc/..... Have increased the folder search depth to 7 in regedit Any thoughts? Thanks

No extra info (cover art, directors, etc) showing up at all in the My DVDs section and I also can not find the DVDInfoCache folder. I have: - added the registry hack (using Matt Goyers file) - made sure that MCE is downloading cover art, etc in the Settings section. Strangely this used to work fine for me, but is not operating properly anymore. Any help would be appreciated

My DVDs doesn't show any info and the DVDInfoCache folder is missing. The CDInfoCache folder is there, and if I put in a CD, it finds the album are and info on it.... Is there a change to MSFT supporting this feature? What update (rollup 2?) should have created the DVDInfoCache folder?

Since they are cutting off XP support entirely in July of this year, you might as well upgrade to at least Vista, but I would recommend Windows 7 (you don't really want Vista). Check out the FAQ section here, everything you need to know is in there. Another option would be to purchase an API Membership here, then purchase DVD Library Tool from CleverTech. Combined, the two can automate the process and cache the metadata from DVDxml.com on your local PC. Useful Links: [submit a dvdid] [my dvd settings] [search] [faq] [contact us]
